Year 11
Standard Math | Advanced Math | Extension 1 Math
Our Year 11 Math program is designed to build the skills needed right before the HSC. Year 11 is a critical time where students develop habits, study routines and the actual content that Year 12 will build upon. We start giving our students HSC style questions to start getting used to exam situations and make sure they are building strong foundations. We run separate classes for the different levels of Maths, with tutors having excelled in the specific Math subject they are now tutoring.
Standard English | Advanced English
Our Year 11 English program combines a Module specific approach with a HSC preparation approach. While we do follow the requirements of specific modules and provide time for students to get help on their Year 11 assignments, we spend time through the year slowly developing unseen section skills, essay writing skills and the new writing styles that are throwing people off in the HSC (discursives, persuasives etc). Not only do working on these skills help with the HSC the year after, but they can immediately translate into writing and analysing more effectively within Year 11. Overall, our English courses value extensive writing practice and provide feedback on specific pieces needed for assignments/exams.
Sciences: Biology | Chemistry | Physics
Our Year 11 science courses are centred on covering content as well as building overall analytical skills that are needed in the HSC. Year 11 is an important time to start developing question/answer techniques, learning how to respond to different verbs in questions and to develop an overall sense of confidence in thinking scientifically. As such, we include ample practice questions and model answers so that students can start applying their knowledge effectively.
